The journey of Black Women Authors began as a natural evolution from Positive Black Sisters. As the book section grew, we realized it deserved its own unique spotlight.

Here's how it all started.

A dedicated team of web design, development, and marketing experts was brought on board to create an online bookstore for a talented black author. During our research, we noticed she frequently referred us to major retailers like Amazon and Barnes and Noble for images and content related to her work.

As we dug deeper for additional resources, we discovered a handful of online bookstores focusing on black authors. However, these platforms primarily offered listing services without genuine promotional support. This gap inspired our team to create a dedicated space that not only highlights but actively promotes the work of black women authors.

 

With a focus on a specific niche, we set out to develop this exciting spin-off. Our goal is to celebrate and elevate black women writers, showcasing their stories and talents to a wider audience. Join us on this wonderful journey of discovery and empowerment as we uplift voices that deserve to be heard.

Celebrating a Milestone:

This December 2025, the incredible web development team behind Positive Black Sisters and Black Women Authors is celebrating 29 amazing years in business.

They started this journey back when Netscape ruled the web, and AOL was the go-to for online access. Can you imagine a time without Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest, or LinkedIn? Myspace was one of the pioneers of social media back then.

They're immensely proud to have achieved a BBB Triple A+ rating, and over the last 7 years, they've dedicated much of their efforts to uplifting black women authors and entrepreneurs in the digital space.

As they turn their sights to 2026, they're thrilled to integrate more Artificial Intelligence into their services. Here’s to continuing the mission and empowering our community every step of the way!
